Aikido for Children and Young People
Welcome to Aikido classes for children and young people at London Aikikai. Our primary aims are Aikido skills and Life Skills - to help improve, physically, emotionally and spiritually, the lives of all children who train with us. They will learn respectful interaction with other children, improve confidence, improve concentration, improve spatial awareness, learn body control and awareness and learn to fall safely - and still have a great time.
Enrolment
You can enrol and begin training on the same day - at any time during the term. Come and see us at the London Aikikai Dojo before class (see schedule below) or contact us by email or phone.
Age Groups
For young people aged 5 to 15 years. Four year olds find it difficult to concentrate in mixed classes but we are willing to consider them if the child is particularly mature and a family member can work with them. 16 and 17 year olds can join our classes for adults.
Timetable (Schedule)
Thursdays:
5:30pm-6:20pm (age 5-9 years)
6:30pm-7:30pm (age 10-15 years)
Saturdays:
4:20pm-5:10pm (age 5-9 years)
5:15pm-6:15pm (age 10-15 years)
Parents or other family members can join in for free to assist their child (5-7 year olds).
2025 Spring Term: 9th January - 5th April (Closed for half-term 20th and 22nd February). 12 weeks
Term training fee one child £90 once/week or £157.50 twice/week.
Term training fee two children £157.50 once/week or £275.63 twice/week.
Additionally, membership fee of £20 per child per year (includes indemnity insurance)
New beginners: Training fee £10 per class for the first two sessions. Then we ask that you pay for the remainder of the term based on £7.50/class (one child), £7/child/class (two children) or you can pay the term fee if that is lower.
