Explanation of classes
Children: aged 5-15 - See Young People
Beginners: Classes aimed at beginners to 3rd Kyu. Others may join in to assist beginners
Mixed: Beginners and all other levels
Intermediate/Advanced: 4th Kyu and above with permission of instructor
Beginners Weapons: Beginners and intermediates in Jyo/Bokken
Intermediate/Advanced Weapons: For all with basic knowledge of weapons training.
Iaido (Iai Batto Ho): All levels, including beginners.
Zazen (seated meditation): For all. Everyone training in the class immediately before Zazen is expected to stay and participate in Zazen.
Free Practise: All levels, including beginners. Practice what you want! Experienced instructor will help.
* Spectators: Spectators are welcome on all days except Wednesdays.
Misogi practice is held twice a year, in January for the New Year and in April to commemorate the death of the Founder of Aikido. The object of Misogi is purification by practising intensively for an hour. A party is held afterwards and students are requested bring their favourite food and drink to share. Watch the dojo noticeboard for details. |
